Welcome to Week 3!
It has been a wonderful beginning of school! Thank you families for putting everyone’s safety first, and only sending children to school when they are feeling well!
We know that choosing the right option of school for your child has been a difficult decision. All option changes are now frozen. We have accommodated all option change requests turned in to us by the deadline on Friday, August 28. Additionally, our 11 day count is on Monday, August 31 and students who have not attended school will be dropped from our rosters. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we have tried to accommodate families to ensure that students are settled in the best instructional learning environment possible.
Important Documents Week 3
The following documents that have been shared with families are also available online:
OCSB Student Code of Conduct English (sign and return the last page)
OCSB Student Code of Conduct Spanish (sign and return the last page)
Over The Counter Medication Form (return to school)
Emergency Contact Information Sheet (return to school)
No new school-wide documents are shared this week. Please continue to send back documents that need to be filed with school.
Important Updates this Year
District COVID-19 Updates were shared at the District Advisory Committee Meeting on 8/27
Masks are required on campus at all times. Students requesting an exemption must present a doctor’s note to school administration PRIOR to entering our campus without a mask.
Self-screening is required prior to entering campus (student home screener is provided on page 5 of the NES Reopening Plan 2020 - Family Guide). Please call the school office to report a sick child as outlined in the Self Screening Guide below.
Temperature checks are conducted for students and staff
Visitors are not allowed - always call ahead for an appointment
Parent meetings are held virtually when at all possible
Drop off of non-instructional items is not allowed
Our parent drop off is going great! We are taking in about 150 cars each day (with several students in each). In order to get everyone’s temperatures taken and hands sanitized, we have started our drop off at 7:40 AM. Parents - please ensure that students are ready to exit the car when you pull up to the drop off circle.
Please stay in communication with your child’s teacher via Class DOJO (teachers will invite you to their group).
